realtechnews.com: Wolfram|Alpha launched on Friday night, though it was delayed by some last meaning technical glitches. @ May 16 2k9: Tether your Nikon DSLR for FREE
Wired.com: Sofortbild is a piece of software which allows you to tether your Nikon DSLR, and it’s free. Tethering allows you to remote control the camera and to almost instantly display your pictures on the big screen as you take them. It also allows shooting a bracketed range of pictures and generating an HDR image. There is also GPS support and a rather nice HUD-style panel to show the metadata. In fact, the entire application wins in terms of interface — Nikon’s software products seem to be designed with a real hatred for the user.
@ Apr 17 2k9: The bike I want
Wired.com: Custom made by Sacha White, the frame builder behind Portland’s Vanilla Bicycles, the bike has no brakes, no gears and none of the bells & whistles often found on a high-end ride. It’s just a flawlessly-made steel frame, a pair of fancy wheels and a seat that’ll likely hurt your ass. Yet it probably costs about the same as a second-hand car.
@ Apr 14 2k9: Nikon D5000 DSLR
engadget.com: The biggest differentiators between the D5000 and the pricier D90 is the complete lack of an in-body focus motor and the pentamirror viewfinder (versus pentaprism on the D90). While that 2.7-inch articulating display is nice, it can't hold a candle to the D90 in terms of resolution. For folks hoping and praying for autofocus in movies, keep on kissing the ground; early reports suggest that the 720p footage looks eerily similar to that put out by the D90.

@ Mar 31 2k9: The Inevitable USB Powered Cigarette
Wired.com: The “USB electronic cigarette" works just like all the other electronic cigarettes. You slide in a cartridge and an electric element vaporizes the liquid inside. This makes it more-or-less odor-free and means that you can, technically at least, smoke in restaurants, bars and even planes. We suggest adding an ashtray for maximum baiting effect.

Wired.com: The upcoming Touch Book from start-up Always Innovating will be the first netbook that detaches its screen from the keyboard to create a standalone touch screen tablet.
